goodbyes...

oh why do they have to be annoyingly hard?

i'm working at dh technology this week doing office stuff from 9-4, til friday (started today). is quite fun. i put a couple hundred statements in envelopes today... and took messages on the phone for sales, when the main guy was on a call or not at his desk... and i learnt the reception phone system which is connected to the computer so there's a whole program for seeing who's calling and what everyone else in the office is doing (like on a call, have calls forwarded to reception etc). i learnt it 'cause someone the receptionist knows died recently so the funeral is probably this week and i may have to do reception for a bit on some day... that freaks me out a bit 'cause it's more than just taking calls but knowing stuff to do with the company and orders and stuff... hopefully if i end up doing it people will be nice and patient seeing as i really don't know stuff...
and then i was shown the warehouse system for printing labels for cartons and dispatching orders and stuffs. probably will do some of that tomorrow. took lots of notes cause there's 3 different courier systems and the programs for inputting stuff on them is different for all of them. the warehouse is cold though :(

but working all day is good for being distracted and even when i am doing something which allows my mind to wander i won't lose it 'cause i'm in an office with other people and i know i can hold on til i get home... and even then family is around so it's holding off until i get to bed and i may be too tired at that point to think so i'll just drift off to sleep...
