switchfoot rock.
and I have "adding to the noise" stuck in my head! It is so good though. Just that I can't remember the words. So I shall write them down for you all...muahahaha

Adding to the Noise
Switchfoot

What's it gonna take
to slow us down
to let the silence spin us around?
What's it gonna take
to drop this town?
We've been spinning at the speed of sound.

Stepping out of those convenience stores,
what could we want but more, more, more?
From the third world
to the corporate core
we are the symphony of modern humanity.

If we're adding to the noise
turn off this song.
If we're adding to the noise
turn off your stereo, radio, video...

I don't know
what they're gonna think of next
genetic engineers of the most high tech.
A couple new ways
to fall into debt.
I'm a nervous wreck but I'll bet
that that TV set
tells us what we've want to hear
But none of those sound bites
are coming in clear,
From the third world to the corporate ear
we are the symphony of modern humanity.

And that is it...so good :)

in other news I decided that more thought should be put into my extension 2 major work, seeing as I have to start writing it these hols. But then to do that I need a better idea of what I'm writing about! And to start that I'm reading more about personalities, cause the four characters in my stories are all going to be very different. I have just realised how hard this is going to be. The way they react to eachother has to be in line with their personality types, so more research must be done! So it starts at the funeral of their childhood friend. The funeral is in the Middle East, but not really as it is today, because I like the idea of the bedouin, (partly from Lior's song, aptly named "Bedouin Song") and I want it to start off in a more relaxed, deserty part of the Middle East, perhaps in the Sahara, with a nomadic group...yay camels! I don't like them actually, but the idea is nice. This writing has made me think...maybe I need to look into funeral rituals of the nomadic groups of the Sahara...I think maybe a few of the main characters could be Western though, dispite growing up in the Sahara, cause I am not from the area and my characters would be acting in a western way, due to my un-easterness...so more thought is needed on that...any ideas juicy?
This blogging is good to get ideas out...knowing that it is for an audience other than me means that it has to be generally understandable and not a clutter of thought in my brain...which is generally what happens...and then i can't be bothered to think it out cause i think i don't have the time. oh well. hopefully i will continue to blog. but for the moment i am going to go late night shopping with mum to get dad's christmas pressie plus some other things i need, such as elasticky things for my dreads. i don't think that's how elasticky is spelt, but since i can't be bothered to find out it will do..who know? maybe it is spelt like that? anyone smart feel free to comment...not that many people will read my blog, but you know.

time to go shopping for me!!! more later!

Howdy doody.. Ideas hey?
Well, what about an exchange student? there is a book you should read i think it's called "princess" but i'll have to clarify. But anyways, it is set in Saudi Arabia and it is about a girl and her growing up in an eastern background and how repressed and sad she is. It's reeeaaalllly good. Um.. but i shall think for a while about your story if you like. Clever you for putting word verification on btw
